I just tried to email a PowerPoint I was working on to a colleague for some feedback and realized, to my horror, that the file size was over 80MB. Obviously, that won’t do. After digging around, I came to the conclusion that the massive amount of images I was using in the file had to be the issue. Going through and manually resizing each image seemed like too much of a chore though, certainly there had to be a better way. Luckily, there is! In PowerPoint 2016 for Mac do the following: • Click on an image - any image will do • Select “Picture Format” • Select “Compress Pictures” • Select the picture quality from the dropdown • Ensure “Delete cropped areas of pictures” is selected • Choose to perform this action on the selected image(s) or all of them • Click OK And there you have it. After doing this one simple step, my file size went from over 80MB to around 7MB. Rag Text Around A Picture In Ppt For Mac 2016 ExcelNot too shabby. Whenever you insert a picture into a Microsoft Word 2013 document, you'll find the image is positioned in line with the text. How to Reduce PowerPoint File Size in Office 2016 for Windows or Mac Posted by Darren King May 4, 2016 in Office To increase the view of a PowerPoint presentation, a large number of pictures are usually added to slides, which makes the entire PowerPoint file very large in size. Rag Text Around A Picture In Ppt For Mac 2016 DownloadI've searched around but can't find an answer to this for the 2016 version of office specifically. I am running Office 365 for home on a Mac powerbook. (The dropdown menu for the question category didn't allow me to select that!) What I would like to do is be able to have an image on my slide and have the text flow around it the same way you can in Word. Otherwise, I have to make two or three separate text boxes, make them different sizes, and place them manually on the page. This seems like such an obvious feature to have in a product that's meant to create visual experiences. It's available in every other Office product. Can it now be done in 2016? However, Microsoft has removed this feature in Office 2016 for Mac claiming Office 2016 for Mac will only prompt you to rebuild the database if it encounters a problem but this doesn’t always work anyway and you risk losing all of your mail if it doesn’t repair properly: The way round this is to create a new Profile in Office 2016 for Mac instead (previously called an “Identity” in Office 2011). Here’s how to create a new identity in Office 2016 using El Capitan, Sierra and High Sierra: • Open your Applications folder and find Microsoft Outlook • Hold down the CTRL key and then click on Microsoft Outlook to see the contextual menu and select “Show Package Contents” • In the Contents > SharedSupport folder, double-click on Outlook Profile Manager (which was previously called Database Utility in Office 2011). • In the Outlook Profile Manager window, click on the (+) button to give the new profile a name. • Finally, click the Options button and click Set as Default You can also try this for Office 2011 although it seems less likely to work regarding problems with El Capitan. In Outlook 2011, you simply hold down the Option key when launching Outlook to open the Database Utility to create a new Identity (now called “Profiles” in Office 2016). Text Shadow Issue By David Charney We would prefer to use the Text Shadow option (rather than a normal drop shadow) but have found, only in Firefox on the Mac, it to be very thin behind any text. Click to expand. If you are talking about very fine white lines which appear everywhere, then this is a result of flattening the file, as the image becomes segmented. Press output profiles generally require Acrobat 4 which does not support transparency. If you zoom in on these white lines in Acrobat you should find they don't get any bigger. They should not appear on final prints, it's like a rounding error in Acrobat's display. You can avoid it by saving your PDFs as 5 or above, retaining transparency, but you should be very careful to discuss colour management and flattening preferences with your printer, or expect some surprises. Click to expand.Yes, that's what I said in my previous post. Acrobat 5 or above retains transparency, the file is not flattened. However, you don't really need to look at the lines as a big problem. They are an onscreen anomaly and should not appear on any of your prints. The only problem I have with them is explaining to clients that they can be ignored. But it's about time Adobe did something about them. And if you do 'solve' them by not flattening the PDF, you should check with your printer what settings they will apply when flattening the file. Flattening also the invokes the colour management engine. If you do it, you can verify the result. Your printer may use a different setting and produce different colour breakdowns. I think a lot of newer rips can take unflattened PDF directly, but all our printers and publishers ask for v1.3 PDFs (Acrobat 4). Click to expand.Certainly a serious issue if they do turn up on plates. I'm reminded now that I've heard one or two cases of this before, but I'd forgotten about it. ![]() How To Record Voice On Powerpoint For MacJust my personal experience they have not.yet. Also, I asked Adobe tech about it years ago, and mine was the explanation I received. As it's the nature of the flattening engine to slice up the page when compositing transparency effects, and the lines (for me at least) always appear around the slices after this, how do you prepare a flattened prepress PDF without them? Bearing in mind 99% of our vendors still require v1.3 PDFs which cannot contain live transparency. ![]() Method: Microsoft Word Text Circle • To create the Microsoft Word text circle first select the Drawing Toolbar if you don’t see your Drawing Toolbar then we need to do is go to the View tab choose Toolbars and make sure that Drawing is ticked. • When have your Drawing Toolbar you can put your text on the page. • Highlight your text or highlight part of the text then choose the Insert / Word Art. • Select the third in the top row on the right the Curve Shape.
